Healing at Your Pace, In a Space That Feels Safe

What Is Trauma Therapy?

Trauma therapy is a specialized form of counseling that helps you process and heal from distressing or overwhelming experiences.

Trauma can come from many sources, including:

  • Childhood experiences or neglect

  • Abuse (emotional, physical, or sexual)

  • Accidents or medical events

  • Loss or sudden life changes

  • Chronic stress or repeated exposure to difficult situations

Trauma isn’t just about what happened—it’s about how those experiences continue to affect your thoughts, emotions, and body. Therapy helps you safely work through those effects.

How We Help

In trauma therapy, we support you in:

  • Processing past experiences in a safe, manageable way

  • Reducing symptoms like anxiety, hypervigilance, or emotional numbness

  • Understanding triggers and emotional responses

  • Rebuilding a sense of safety and control

  • Strengthening coping skills and resilience

  • Reconnecting with yourself and others

Our approach is gentle, collaborative, and tailored to your comfort level—so you never feel rushed or overwhelmed.

Healing Is Possible

Trauma can make the world feel unsafe—and can disconnect you from yourself and others.

But healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means learning how to feel grounded, present, and in control again.

With the right support, it’s possible to move forward with strength and clarity.

Is Trauma Therapy Right for You?

You may benefit from trauma therapy if you are:

  • Experiencing anxiety, panic, or emotional overwhelm

  • Feeling numb, disconnected, or “on edge”

  • Struggling with intrusive thoughts or memories

  • Avoiding people, places, or situations that remind you of the past

  • Having difficulty trusting others or feeling safe

  • Living with unresolved experiences that still affect your daily life

If any of this resonates, trauma therapy can help you begin the healing process.

Our Approach

At Wellness Counseling, we provide:

  • A safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment

  • Trauma-informed care that prioritizes your comfort and safety

  • Evidence-based and holistic therapeutic techniques

  • A personalized approach tailored to your needs

  • Flexible telehealth sessions

We believe healing happens in a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered.
